The eighth annual Oktoberfest in Des Moines, Iowa, takes place September 23 and 24, 2011, in the heart of the Court Avenue District downtown.
Centerpiece is (of course) the beer garden, but you’ll also find the region’s finest Polka bands, authentic German food, contests and more. The event official kicks off with the tapping of the Golden Keg and a giant group toast.
