Dole Pineapple Plantation
Although most of America’s fresh pineapples are no longer grown in Hawaii, Road Trips Foodies can visit the Dole Pineapple Plantation at 64-1550 Kamehameha Highway in
Wahiawa on the island of Oahu to see what it was like before cultivation moved to Southeast Asia.
Here you can take a “whistle stop” narrated train tour through pineapple fields (and the history of pineapple cultivation on
the islands).
Or, find your way through the Pineapple Garden Maze stretching over three acres with nearly two and one-half miles of paths crafted from 14,000 colorful Hawaiian plants. The self-guided garden tour offers a glimpse of agriculture on the Hawaiian islands, from pineapples to coffee and cacao. And, here’s an insider tip: cap off your tour with a Dole Whip, the Plantation Grille’s signature pineapple cooler!
