High Tea at Café Alcazar
If you’re headed to Saint Augustine, Florida, any time soon, consider making a reservation for high tea at Café Alcazar in the Lightner Museum, 75 King Street, Saint Augustine.
It’s offered in conjunction with the “Dressing Downton” exhibition in the museum that features a costume history of the period surrounding World War I as seen in the television series. The menu for the special tea includes sweet and savory items reminiscent of Gilded Age high style.
Through January 7, 2018 (when the exhibition closes), teas will be held at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 2 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Tickets are required and can be purchased online.
The Lightner Museum is housed in the former Alcazar Hotel built in 1888 by Henry Flagler. Today it is home to a collection of fine and decorative 19th century art.
