Where to Eat Breakfast: Nairobi
Your Road Trips Foodie has made several trips to Nairobi, Kenya, and has eaten breakfast at many a hotel buffet. Lavish though they may be, it’s more adventuresome to dine where the locals go.
Here are some suggestions, courtesy of Yummy Magazine:
Tiramisu Restaurant in the Village Market Food Court, Gigiri, has many pastries and bakery specialties for a quick breakfast on the go.
Mamas Patisserie, ABC Place, Waiyaki Way, Westlands, also offers tempting pastries.
Jade Coffee & Teahouse at Zen Garden, Lower Kabete Road, Spring Valley, has an Asian vibe (not to mention delectable teas).
Creative Kitchen at Aero Club of East Africa, Wilson Airport (Off Langata Road), Langata, opens at 6 a.m. with American style pancakes, English breakfasts, tropical fruit salads and Eggs Benedict.
For the most elegant breakfast, try Talisman, 320 Ngong Road, Karen. Their European, Pan-Asian and African fusion cuisine is a favorite among expats living in Nairobi.
