C’mon, Road Trips Foodies: who could resist the testicle festival?
That is, of course, the nickname for the Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry, now in its 24th year in downtown Virginia City, Nevada.
Set for March 14, 2015, it also includes a St. Patrick’s Day Parade with marching leprechauns and other “green attractions” (one shudders to think of what those might be).
The “oysters” will be testicles from both cattle and sheep, served up by more than 20 professional and amateur cooks from around the West (you can try ’em grilled, fried or smoked).
This is a “full-on Irish Testicle Festival”, which means a a beer garden, live Irish music, individual and team ball-eating contests, the parade and a Leprechaun Bar Crawl. St. Paddy’s day garb optional.
