Buchlovice Garlic Festival

For Road Trips Foodies who love garlic: a festival next summer in the Czech Republic!
Set for July 25, 2015, the Garlic Festival is held in the park around Castle Buchlovice. The program includes the presentation of the garlic harvest to the mayor of Buchlovice, the singing of garlic hymns (!), cutting a garlic cake, raising a garlic banner and making a toast with garlic buttermilk.
During the festivities, you can try garlic dishes, compete for the best garlic recipe or the most beautiful garlic braid, vote for Miss Garlic, and take part in a a garlic-smelling contest.
The event traditionally includes regional culinary specialties, brass band music and lectures (in Czech, of course) on garlic.
