Lorenzo Cogo Guest-Chefs at Palazzo Parigi Hotel
Well, Road Trips Foodies: we’ve missed the first weekend, but the second weekend is still an option. For what? Lorenzo Cogo (pictured), the youngest chef in Italy to win a Michelin star (he was 25 then, he’s 28 now), will be the guest chef at Palazzo Parigi Hotel & Grand Spa, Corso di Porta Nuova 1, Milan, Italy.
The first weekend with Cogo as guest chef was to celebrate the Grand Prix of Monza. The second, celebrating Milan’s Fashion Week, will be September 19 and 20, 2014. Chef Cogo will prepare a tasting menu featuring such dishes as Vegetarian Pate prepared with Parmigiano-Reggiano and Olives, Grilled Sardinian Red Prawns, A Beet Tribute, Champagne and Provolone Risotto, Pork belly with Caramelized Yogurt and Pickled Vegetables, Homemade Yogurt with Fresh Figs and Freshly Baked Bread with Handcrafted Chocolate.
The special tasting menu may be paired with wines selected by Palazzo Parigi’s Millennial Sommelier Matteo Ghiringhelli. The restaurant’s traditional Milanese-inspired menu will also be available to guests as an additional option.
Palazzo Parigi is known for fostering young talent, having begun a partnership with 28-year-old Sommelier Ghiringhelli over a year ago, in anticipation of the hotel’s opening last fall. At age 27, Ghiringhelli received the title of Best Sommelier in Italy and is a leading name amongst top-rated European Sommeliers.
Chef Cogo is the owner of El Coq in Marano Vicentino and comes from three generations of Venetian chefs. Not surprisingly “cogo” in the Venetian dialect literally translates to “cook”.
