MesaAbierta: A Showcase of Mexican Gastronomy
MesaAbierta, set for March 20 through 23, 2014, will be held in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, said to be the “cultural and culinary capital of colonial Mexico”.
Among the highlights are two days of “picnics” featuring foods from San Miguel’s Farmers Market and special dinners prepared by an international roster of guest chefs including Rick Bayless, Elena Reygadas and Dante Ferrero.
MesaAbierta is an offshoot of Mesamérica founded in 2012 by Chef Enrique Olvera, who operates Moxi restaurant at Hotel Matilda in San Miguel de Allende and Pujol in Mexico City.
