Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival
The harvest of the sea will be celebrated at the 23rd annual Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival, set for October 19 and 20, 2013, in downtown Newport, Rhode Island (map).
From 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., Road Trips Foodies will find “copious amounts of seafood, continuous live music, and family fun, all beneath the Wharf’s colorful tents”.
In addition, neighboring restaurants and fishermen’s associations will serve up their most celebrated seafood dishes (lobster dinners, clam chowder, stuffed quahogs, clam cakes, shrimp, scallops, raw oysters and clams, as well as a few dishes for landlubbers and kids). Café-style seating will be set up throughout the wharf area
Admission is free (but you purchase your food and beverages). And, yes, it’s held rain or shine.
