Oysters and Bloody Caesars
Seems that Canuck Road Trips Foodies don’t much like Bloody Marys. They prefer a variation of the cocktail called a Bloody Caesar (where the tomato juice is replaced by clamato).
Somehow that seems the appropriate accompaniment to oysters — and the two do go together quite well at the World Oyster Invitational and Bloody Caesar Battle, set for 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday (July 14, 2013) in the Bearfoot Bistro, 4121 Village Green, Whistler, British Columbia, Canada (map).
While oyster shuckers compete in, well, shucking oysters, bartenders and mixologists will vie for the “best Bloody Caesar” title.
Proceeds from the event to to Playground Builders, a Canadian charity that builds playgrounds for children in war-torn areas, and WAG (whistler Animals Galore), which works to improve the lives of animals through education, advocacy, and medical care.
Tickets are $48.
