There’s no better way to celebrate Bastille Day than with a a bit of “France in a Glass”.
One decidedly French cocktail is Serendipity, a classic drink created by Colin Peter Field of the Hemingway Bar at the Ritz Paris.
Can’t make it to Paris this month? It’s just as well: The Ritz is closed for restoration anyway.
However, the Serendipity will be featured by Colin Field at the Tales of the Cocktail festival in New Orleans, Louisiana, July 17 through 21, 2013.
Rather make it yourself at home?
The recipe:
1 stem of fresh mint
1 teaspoon of white sugar
1 oz. Calvados, a “young” one
2 oz. clear apple juice
Add ice.
Fill to the top with Champagne, and serve in a tumbler.
