Spend the Night in a Brewhouse
Where else but Milwaukee, Wisconsin, would a Road Trips Foodie be able to spend the night in a brewery!
Well, they don’t make beer there anymore, but the Brewhouse Inn & Suites (which just opened in May) is the repurposed Pabst Brewery.
The luxury boutique hotel, 1215 North 10th Street Milwaukee, Wisconsin (map), previously known as buildings 20 and 21 maintains the architecture of this Milwaukee icon with Cream City brick lining the walls and five giant copper kettles, once used in the brewing process, remaining on the second floor. Sun streams through the giant, 125-year-old stained glass window of King Gambrinus (pictured), the patron saint of beer brewing, which was rediscovered after being boarded up for 15 years.
Best of all, Jackson’s Blue Ribbon Pub in the lobby serves up pub food and features a seasonal beer garden to enjoy a brew on a warm summer day.
