It’s happening now, so it’s too late to go, Road Trips Foodies, but if you’re a mango aficionado, start planning for next year.
Yes, the sixth annual Mango Madness Festival opens today (June 7) at Jade Mountain on the Caribbean island nation of St. Lucia, running through June 11, 2013.
This year’s fest is hosted by James Beard award winning chef Allen Susser (pictured), the author of The Great Mango Book and said to be the definite authority on this fruit (10 varieties grow on the island).
The Mango Madness Festival includes cooking classes, tastings, cocktail parties and (sigh!) a Night of the 1000 Mangos — a five-course dinner.
