Celebrate the sea this month at Festival of the Fish June 14 and 15, 2013, in Vermilion, Ohio (map).
There’ll be food, a pet parade, food, a boat parade (pictured), races, pageants, contests (including, inexplicably, a pizza-eating contest), entertainment, a firefighters’ water fight, markets and food (did we mention the Friday night fireworks?).
Center of the action is Route 60 (also known as Main Street) between Route 6 (Liberty Avenue) and Ohio Street in the center of the historic downtown Vermilion, a city right along the shores of Lake Erie.
