The freshest seafood you can find is promised at the Original Marathon Seafood Festival set for March 9 and 10, 2013, in Marathon, Florida (map). That’s because the fish, clams, lobsters and more come right from commercial fishermen’s boats harbored on the Florida Keys.
The fest began in 1976 as a way for local Marathon and Middle Keys commercial fishermen and their families to “kick-back” and enjoy the fruits of their labor. These days, there are more than 200 vendors plus non-stop entertainment.
Admission is $5 for adults; kids under 10 are free.
