Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival
Workshops, demonstrations, chocolate sculpture and (of course) a chocolate market — all are part of the fifth annual Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival in Ramsbottom, England (map). It takes place in the town about 14 miles north of Manchester on March 23 and 24, 2013.
Look for it on Bridge Street, where “big names” from around the United Kingdom will be there alongside local standouts such as The Chocolate Café and Slattery.
Besides, this is a chocolate festival with a beer tent, Road Trips Foodies. Head to Market Place at the top of Bridge Street where local brewery Outstanding Beers will be serving a selection of locally brewed real ales. Also inside the tent: ‘unplugged’ acoustic music from some of the region’s artists.
Cafes, restaurants and shops throughout the town will have chocolate specials on their menus. Try chocolate beer at Irwell Works Brewery (Square Street) and specially for the festival a Chocolate Festival Menu from Eagle and Child (Whalley Road). Plus Ramsbottom Soap Company (inside Purple Tiger, Bridge Street) will be making chocolate inspired soaps, bath bombs and lip balms.
