Westin Hotels & Resorts’ newest restaurant concept, Grill & Vine, opened at The Westin San Francisco Airport yesterday (January 11, 2013).

Grill & Vine offers a modernized reinterpretation of the classic bar and grill designed in signature tavern style. the menu was developed in collaboration with the Starwood Culinary Corporate team with input from Executive Chef Werner Fankhauser.

For breakfast, many dishes are designated as SuperFoodsRx, a program implemented by Starwood Hotels to provide healthy food alternatives on the hotel’s menu, like Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal, Smoked Salmon Benedict and Eggs Chilaquiles. Other options include a Crisp Malted Waffle, Lox and Bagel, and Fried Egg & Turkey Sandwich. Breakfast also features a selection of hand-pressed fruit and vegetable juices.

For lunch and dinner, Grill & Vine guests can choose from snacks and starters including Deviled Eggs, Slow Braised Pulled Pork on brioche, and Sweet Potato Bisque. Salads, Sandwiches and Flatbreads include a Curly Kale Caesar Salad, Foraged Mushroom and Bacon Flatbread, and the Grill & Vine Burger. Paying homage to the name of the restaurant, the Simply Grilled dishes include Black Angus New York Strip Steak and Salmon Fillet, while the San Francisco’s Cioppino celebrates the city’s culinary heritage.

A hallmark of the wine program at Grill & Vine is the restaurant’s Enomatic® Wine System, a wine preservation and serving system that displaces the air in open bottles of wine and preserves it for up to 30 days. This allows for the restaurant to serve up to a dozen wines by the glass that would otherwise need to be sold by the bottle.

Other key design features of Grill & Vine will include communal tables to bring guests together. A menu board hanging above the kitchen will showcase the daily specials or Chef’s favorite dishes.

Grill & Vine will be open continuously from 6:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.; the bar will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., and the restaurant will offer room service to hotel guests 24 hours a day.
