Submitted by on November 10, 2012 – 8:31 amNo Comment

Ever wondered what dinner was like during prehistoric times in Europe, Road Trips Foodies?

Answers await on your plate during two dinners at the Museum of Natural Sciences, Rue Vautier 29, Brussels, Belgium (map). You can get a taste of early gastronomy at 6:30 p.m. either November 22 or 23, 2012, as part of a new exhibition at the museum entitled “Prehistory – Do It Yourself”.

Brusselicious invites you to go back in time. What foods did they know? How did they cook them? How did they eat them? And above all . . . was it good?

Mounted in cooperation with the Ramioul prehistoric site, the exhibition will take you back to the world of prehistoric humans, where you can relive daily life through shows, films and activities. You will learn to make stone tools, hunt bison, tan skins and light fire “the prehistoric way.”

After a “prehistoric” drink and the discovery of the exhibition you will go into the mineral dining room featuring all prehistoric conveniences to taste recipes which may have been served to your ancestors. The way of cooking has certainly changed a lot, but all the ingredients on offer were known at the time.

If you’re heading to the Belgian capital the third week in November, you can buy tickets for the dinner online.
