Whiskey in Wyoming
The burgh of Kirby, Wyoming (population: 57), has been bustling for a few years now because it’s the hometown of Wyoming Whiskey (map) – the first legal distillery established in the state.
(Wyoming Whiskey becomes available for public consumption December 1, 2012.)
Even ahead of the launch date for the first finished batch, Road Trips Foodies, tours are offered at no charge Monday through Friday (by reservation; call ahead — 307:864-2116).
Tours include discussions about the use of locally grown corn, wheat and barley in addition to the artesian well water from a limestone aquifer near Manderson, Wyoming.
