Taste of Madison
They’ll be celebrating 30 years of great taste at Taste of Madison over Labor Day weekend in Wisconsin’s capital city.
Hours are 2 to 8 p.m. September 1, 2012, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. September 2, 2012. Evidently they’ll use Labor day itself to clean up the area around the capitol, where the taste takes place (map).
Although the organizers caution that severe weather like high winds, hail, lightning or tornado would force ’em to postpone entertainment and temporarily stop serving food and beverages, note that the event “doesn’t stop one bit for light rain”.
Taste of Madison showcases 84 local restaurants and caterers this year, with an additional 20 beverage stands and three entertainment stages. Every food item is priced from $1 to $4. Admission to the event – which includes live entertainment – is free.
Taste of Madison is the flagship event of Madison Festivals, Inc. and benefits United Cerebral Palsy of Dane County, Wisconsin. In addition, all tips at beverage stands go directly to UCP of Dane County.
