Discover the many flavors of Mexico in the Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, Illinois (map). “Taste of Mexico” will be held from noon to 6 p.m. June 16 and 17, 2012, in the meadow west of Evening Island.

Chicagoland restaurants will sell light fare representing dishes from places in Mexico such as Oaxaca, Jalisco, Veracruz or Guanajuato. Vendors will provide tastings of Mexican beers, tequila, and specialty drinks made with tequila.

An entertainment stage will host live bands and dancers, as well as cooking demonstrations and tips about choosing, buying and preparing drinks.

Tickets at the gate are $35 and include entrance to the event, a souvenir glass, program and ten tasting tickets.
