Oregon Truffle Festival
As all Road Trips Foodies know, there are two kinds of truffles: chocolate and the fruiting body of an underground mushroom. The seventh annual Oregon Truffle Festival is concerned with the latter.
It’s held in and around Eugene, Oregon, in the dead of winter: January 27 through 29, 2012. Created to celebrate the local truffle as it reaches the peak of ripeness in its native soil, the fest is said to be the first of its kind in North America that’s dedicated to sharing the experience of the chefs, foragers and fans of wild truffles.
