Billed as a “festival for the indulgent and the connoisseur”, Cornucopia is an annual celebration of wine and food in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. This year’s dates are November 10 through 13, 2011.

On offer at the four-day event are winemaker dinners, interactive seminars, wine tastings and “after parties”. This year’s festival features exciting new additions to the line-up, welcoming Canada’s Top Chef (Dale MacKay) and an Eastern Canadian contingent plus the return of an original -– the Masquerave.

Chef MacKay will feature his cuisine and culinary flair in an intimate and exclusive 50-person luncheon held in a Whistler chateau. Chefs from Québec will showcase their culinary prowess at a number of events.

After a five-year hiatus, the legendary Masquerave at the Bearfoot Bistro returns to Cornucopia. As in the past, this extravaganza will feature local and international wines and Champagnes, light shows and burlesque entertainment.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary milestone of the Araxi Restaurant, there will be two special events. Araxi Executive Chef James Walt will present a multi-course menu at the “Big Guns Winemakers Dinner: Icons of the Wine World”. Araxi’s legendary “Bubbles + Oceans Afterparty” will showcase 30 Champagne houses and sparkling wine producers.

The keynote speaker at the wine seminar series iswriter Natalie MacLean, editor of Canada’s largest wine website (nataliemaclean.com, who will host a wine tasting and launch her new book Unquenchable: A Tipsy Search for the World’s Best Bargain Wines.

The dual-night flagship tasting event CRUSH, winemakers dinners, chef’s luncheon and the Chef’s Trip to the Farm round out the programming for Cornucopia.
