Chili Cook-off
The Chili Cook-off heats up Decatur, Alabama, from 11 a.m. til 2:30 p.m. February 19, 2011, at Ingalls Harbor, 701 Market Street Northwest, Decatur, Alabama.
The third annual River City Charity Chili Cook-off includes free chili-sampling, live music and games (did I mention chili-sampling, Road Trips Foodies?).
Each four-member team competing in the cook-off will be required to produce 10 gallons of chili with all cooking (with the exception of beans) to be done on site. Prizes will be awarded for Best Chili (selected by judges) and People’s Choice (chosen by patrons).
Admission is $6 per person in advance or $8 per person ($15 for two) at the gate. Children ages 8 and under are admitted free.
All proceeds benefit Promise Homes, a non-profit program which helps adults with developmental disabilities.
