London Autumn Harvest Show

How about a combination floral and foodie feast? If you’re in London, Road Trips Foodies, make tracks for the Horticultural Halls at Westminster October 5 and 6, 2010. It’s time for the London Autumn Harvest Show.

For the first time the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Show Manager, Alex Denman, will be turning her talents to the RHS London Autumn Harvest Show. She’s determined that it’ll be a fest where visitors can see, taste and buy some of the wonders of the season. “It’s been great organising a more intimate event, where I’ve been able to include interactive displays to demonstrate great gardening ideas and fun elements like apple-bobbing,” she quipped.

One of the many highlights will be a spectacular ‘walk-round’ feature of dahlias, fruits and vegetables by Jon Wheatley, in association with Winchester Growers. Another Chelsea 2010 Gold-medal winner, Interflora, will create a vast curtain of autumn flowers and foliage draped spectacularly from the ceiling.

Produce, including apples, pumpkins and carrots, will line the tables of Lindley Hall for a major fruit and vegetable competition to showcase champion produce. Other harvest displays include coffee beans, chutney, olives and more, intended to tempt both the eye and palate.

First day tickets are £5, and second day are £3.
