The Isle of Wight Garlic Festival
What better time to visit England’s Isle of Wight than during the Island’s annual garlic festival.
It’s August 14-15, 2010, at Newchurch, and features a whole array of delicacies — all with a garlic twist — from quirky garlic beer and ice cream to local meats and fish cooked in garlic.
As well as garlic-themed food, the festival features over 300 arts and craft stalls and a packed schedule of entertainment throughout the weekend. Watch the Vander brothers as they perform their Wheel of Death stunts. For the youngsters, there are dancing dog displays, Punch and Judy shows and magic displays throughout the weekend.
Opening times are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Admission is £7.50 for adults and £4 for children (free parking!).
Road Trips Foodies will find the festival at Fighting Cocks Crossroads, Bathingbourne Lane,
Sandown, Isle of Wight, England.
