illinois_chicago_pinotAttention Road Trips Foodies, there are three major components to Pinot Days Chicago this week. First up is “Pinot Pairing at Uncommon Ground on Devon”. Cost for the 6-9 p.m. event November 11, 2009, at 1401 West Devon, Chicago, Illinois, is $25. There’ll be six pinot producers pouring alongside Executive Chef Brian Millman’s dinner selections. (This is the restaurant with its own certified organic roof top farm.) Then comes the Winemakers’ Table Hop Dinner, starting at 6 p.m. November 13, 2009, in Bin 36, 339 North Dearborn Street, Chicago. The cost is $130 per person for hors d’oeuvres plus a four-course pinot-paired dinner (with 18 different pinot wines!). The next day is the public tasting, held from 1-5 p.m. November 14, 2009 at Navy Pier, 600 East Grand Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. Tickets are $50 to sample some 200 pinots from “every important domestic pinot noir region, from the Russian River Valley to Oregon, Carneros to the Santa Lucia Highlands, the Anderson Valley to the Sonoma Coast.” Of course, there’ll be wonderful specialty foods that pair well with pinot, too.
