Head straight for the bean soup tent, Road Trips Foodies, for delicious, steaming, homemade navy bean soup and cornbread this weekend. That’s the lure for the annual Navy Bean Fall Festival right along the Ohio River in Rising Sun, Indiana (not too far from Cincinnati, Ohio). Activities begin at 6 p.m. Friday night (October 9, 2009) including live music, carnival rides, craft and vendor booths and (of course) lots of good food (the bean soup is served from 5-8 p.m. Friday). Then, on Saturday (October 10, 2009), events kick off at 10:30 a.m. with the festival parade. Soup and cornbread are again served, from 11 a.m. until gone! (Music, games, rides, etc. also are in full swing Saturday.)
