Fredericksburg Food & Wine Fest
Road Trips Foodies headed toward Texas later this month should consider putting Fredericksburg, Texas, on their itineraries. The 19th annual Food & Wine Fest will take place October 24, 2009, with 25 Texas wineries and 50 Texas-made specialty food purveyors on hand from noon to 7 p.m. Texas gourmet chefs will demonstrate their culinary talents at the Grape Expectations Cooking School, there’s a Gargantuan Great Grape Toss, plus an auction, art and entertainment. The $20 general admission fee includes a Souvenir Fest wine glass, three tickets for free wine samples and six sessions of the Grape Expectations Cooking School.
It all takes place in downtown Fredericksburg on Marktplatz (the 100 block of West Main Street). The 2009 participants include: Becker Vineyards, Bell Mountain Vineyards, Brennan Vineyards, Chisholm Trail Winery, CrossRoads Winery, Fall Creek Vineyards, Fawncrest Vineyards, Fredericksburg Winery, Grape Creek Vineyards, Haak Winery, Homestead Winery, Inwood Estates Vineyards, Llano Estacado, Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards, Messina Hof Winery, Oberhof Wine Cellars, Pedernales Cellars, Pheasant Ridge, Piney Woods, Country Wines, Pleasant Hill Winery, Purple Possum Winery, Rancho Ponte Vineyard, Red Road Vineyard & Winery, Sister Creek Vineyards, Texas Hills Vineyard, Three Dudes Winery and Val Verde Winery.
