Tanglewood Wine & Food Classic
Attention Road Trip Foodies: Tanglewood isn’t all music. The Seventh Annual Wine & Food Classic kicks off in Lenox, Massachusetts, next week. It includes a 4 p.m. winemaker reception and 6 p.m. locavore dinner next Friday (August 7, 2009), a Grand Tasting from noon to 4 p.m. next Saturday (August 8, 2009) plus a brunch on Sunday (August 9, 2009). Wine seminars are scheduled both August 7 and 8, 2009. There’s more information on the website. The signature event is (as always) the auction dinner on opening day — August 6, 2009 — featuring Rob and Maria Helm Sinskey, of Robert Sinksey Vineyards in Napa Valley, California. Guest chef Zach Bell of Cafe? Boulud in Palm Beach, Florida, will collaborate with Jeffrey Thompson, Executive Chef of Wheatleigh in Lenox, Massachusetts, for the dinner, to be held at Seranak, the former home of Tanglewood legend Serge Koussevitzky. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Youth and Family Programs. If you’re planning to be in the area, be sure to check to see if tickets are still available for the event you prefer (sell-outs are routine): call 508:228.1128 or email.
