Apple aficionados will want to add the Johnny Appleseed Heritage Center to their Road Trips for Foodies wish list. Located in Mansfield, Ohio, it celebrates the legendary “philanthropist, naturalist, environmentalist, horticulturist, visionary, missionary, humanitarian and border scout, John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed”. Admittedly still in development, the center cooperates with OhioApples.com to showcase apple production in this midwestern state. The site’s listings of apple-related events is worth checking out if you’ll be rolling through Ohio.
