Finger Lakes Wine Festival
If New York State’s Finger Lakes are on your Road Trip itinerary next weekend, be sure to stop at the Finger Lakes Wine Festival in Watkins Glen, New York, July 18 or 19, 2009. There, you can sip, savor (and shop!) more than 600 wines from at least 80 wineries. There’ll also be culinary classes, cooking demonstrations and a variety of wine seminars presented by the New York Wine & Grape Foundation. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (July 18) and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday (July 19) on the Main Festival Grounds. Admission price at the gate for one day is $30; for two, $40.
There’s more to drink than wine: you can fork over an additional $5 and sample ales, lagers and even experimental batches from local and regional microbreweries in the Brewers’ Garden.
