Hamshushalayim Festival

israel_hamshushFor three consecutive weekends in November and December, the Hamshushalayim festival will feature live musical performances and culinary events plus free admission to museums and cultural attractions throughout Jerusalem. On November 26-28, December 3-5 and December 10-12, Hamshushalayim will provide travelers with free entry to a number of tourist and cultural attractions in the city, including the Israel Museum, the Bible Lands Museum, the Museum of Italian Jewish Art, the Museum of Islamic Art, the Tower of David Museum, the City of David, and the Jerusalem Science Museum.

Each weekend also features live performances, attractions and activities at venues around Jerusalem, including an a capella concert at the Shrine of the Book, live jazz at the Davidson Center, opera at the Museum of Italian Jewish Art and special street performances on Alrov Mamilla Boulevard.

The festival will also cater to gourmands traveling to Israel, with the city’s leading restaurants, cafes and pubs offering prix fixe menus, in addition to a Happy Hour on Saturday evenings. Cooking workshops, wine tasting in the city’s wine centers and tours of the Makhane Yehuda market also are planned. A Farmer and Artist Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 27, December 4 and December 11 at the Tarbut Amim Center in Jerusalem.israel_pastry
