German-Style Plum Festival
Sorry for the late notification, Road Trips Foodies, but if you’re in Southern California today there’s a tasty food fest scheduled just south of Long Beach.
The annual Plum Fest takes place TODAY (August 20, 2017) at Old World German Restaurant, 7561 Center Avenue, Huntington Beach, California, from 2 to 6 p.m. If you’ve ever been in Germany during plum season you know that this event is not to be missed.
Admission is free — BUT, if you’re under 21, “you must be accompanied by your parents. No exceptions.”
Of course there’ll be live music, carnival games and face painting. But what we’re going for is plum-related: plum cakes, plum crepes, plum strudel and plum Berliners. And, there’ll be a BBQ kitchen.
PST — Wiener Dog Races take place between 3 and 4 p.m. And, of course they also stage an Oktoberfest if you’re not headed to Huntington Beach just yet.
