Southwest Chowderfest in Lake Havasu City
Southwest Chowderfest in Lake Havasu State Park, Arizona, is billed as “the ultimate comfort food, and fun celebration”. It takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday (March 11, 2023).
“Everyone thinks of clam chowder, but the fun part is, everyone is doing their own twist on chowder,” Tina Stocking, event chairwoman, told Today’s News-Herald. “A chowder’s just a soup with a crème base, right? So it could be anything.” Lake Havasu City restaurants and home chefs will serve up their unique versions of this hearty soup for a friendly competition to win the Golden Ladle.
But since you can’t live on chowder alone, Chowderfest will include a variety of breweries, wineries, and distilleries sampling and marketing their craft. The event will feature live music, 20 vendors and exhibitors, and a coffee bar.
The event is sponsored by Soroptimist International of Lake Havasu City. Proceeds will benefit education for women and girls, both locally and internationally. Admission is $35; children 12 and under free.
