Hood River Cider Fest
The Hood River Cider Fest has moved to the waterfront for this year’s edition, set for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 29, 2023.
The 8th annual fest, celebrating hard-pressed cider, will take place at the Hood River Event Site, Portway Avenue, Hood River, Oregon. It gives seasoned and novice cider drinkers alike the chance to sample cider from Oregon and Washington’s very own cider makers. More than twenty cideries will be participating, with over 40 ciders on tap.
The daylong event also features local craft and food vendors and a kids’ area with giant yard games.
It’s held rain or shine: spring showers aren’t a problem, as the Cider Fest tasting area is tented. Tickets, available online, can include up to three free “under 21” tickets for each adult ticket purchased.
What is Hard-Pressed Cider>
Hard cider is an alcoholic drink made by fermenting the juice of fruit, usually apples. The addition of “hard” in its name is used to distinguish this drink from its non-alcoholic counterpart, apple cider, which is made by pressing apples to produce juice.
