St. Mary’s Seafood Festival in Georgia
The Seafood Festival in St. Marys, Georgia, promises seafood concessionaires along with all sorts of family fun October 1, 2022, along the waterfront in the historic downtown.
It’s the kick-off event for the 50th anniversary of the Cumberland Island National Seashore.
There’s a 5K and 10K run, a parade at 10 a.m. (with floats, fire trucks, tractors, and golf carts), arts and crafts vendors.
Restaurants will be offering seafood festival specials, and there will be food trucks and vendors with more seafood fare. The Kiwanis Club will have a booth with several seafood choices.
First up, at 7 a.m., is the start for the 5K and 10K runs. Vendors are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with entertainment and demonstrations from 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. Listen for musket firing from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Stage entertainment continues until 7:30 p.m.
St. Marys is the mainland gateway to Cumberland Island, Georgia’s largest and southernmost barrier island. The visitor center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 113 West St. Marys Street.
