Strawberry Festival in Moulton, Alabama

Submitted by on April 26, 2021 – 8:37 amNo Comment

StrawberryAfter canceling due to the COVID-19 pandemic last year, Moulton’s berry delicious event returns to Alabama next weekend for two days of family fun, fresh strawberries and live music. Now in its sixth year, the Strawberry Festival is set for April 30 and May 1, 2021, with activities taking place at the Lions Club Fairgrounds, 455 School Street, Moulton, Alabama.

Fresh strawberries, the highlight of the two-day event, will be available to purchase (supplies do run out, so…). Farmers will be on hand to offer tips and suggestions for storing and preparing.

Activities include inflatables, bungee jumps, a petting zoo, “pig squeal”, and a fire truck display.

The Strawberry Festival Pageant begins at noon May 1 at the Moulton Lion’s Club. All proceeds will go toward the needs of foster children in Lawrence County. The mud volleyball tournament also gets underway at noon in the empty lot west of the Moulton Senior Center. Proceeds will go to athletics for all special needs athletes.

The festival also showcases gospel groups, oldies and folk performers, bands and choral groups from local high schools, and rising stars from across the region. Festival-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs as ongoing live music fills the air both days on two stages. Additional activities include a classic car/truck/motorcycle show, a one-mile trail bike ride, horse and buggy rides, and arts and crafts vendors.

Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday (April 30) and 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday (May 1). All activities will take place at the Lions Club Fairgrounds unless otherwise noted. Admission is $1 before 5 p.m. and $2 after 5 p.m. each day. Proceeds benefit the Jesse Owens Runners’ Club and local schools.
