Pimento Cheese Festival
A Road Trips Foodie never can begin early enough to plan to attend an event such as this. The Pimento Cheese Festival will be held June 6, 2020, in Cary, North Carolina.
Food trucks will line the streets downtown to serve their regular menus — along with new dishes featuring that Southern delicacy: pimento cheese.
(What’s in pimento cheese? Key ingredients include pimentos, cheddar cheese, and mayonnaise. According to Wikipedia, A pimiento, pimento, or cherry pepper is a variety of large, red, heart-shaped chili pepper that measures three to four inches long and two to three inches wide. The flesh of the pimiento is sweet, succulent, and more aromatic than that of the red bell pepper.)
There’ll be live music at Downtown Park, 319 South Academy Street, Cary, North Carolina, plus beer from local breweries — and some of the best pimento cheese samples from local restaurants from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oh: there’s also a cheese sculpting contest.
Note: the Pimento Cheese Festival will be held rain or shine.
