Hilton Head Seafood Festival
What better place for a seafood bonanza than the Atlantic Coast of South Carolina!
The 13th annual Hilton Head Seafood Festival takes place February 24, 2020, through March 1, 2020.
According to the organizers, the fest is a family-friendly, week-long culinary and cultural tourism event, where top chefs, mixologists, sommeliers, local seafood, artisans, live music, and wildlife come together. Tickets are available online — and some categories are already sold out, so check before you set your travel plans.
Some of the highlights? The “Lowcountry Seafood Experience on the Water’ includes instruction on shrimping, oystering, clamming, and crabbing. There’s a “Friends of James Beard Southern Supper”, several “Celebrity Chef Master Classes”, and a “Seafood & Champagne Sunday Brunch”. Check out the full range of events online.
The event, hosted by the David M. Carmines Memorial Foundation, helps raise money for other non-profit organizations including the Coastal Discovery Museum, Island Recreation Scholarship Fund, Waddell Mariculture Center, Port Royal Sound Foundation, Gullah Heritage Museum, and Medical University of South Carolina. The foundation was established by the Carmines family, owners of Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks, in memory of their son, and the seafood festival is the organization’s main fundraiser.
