Indiana Farmers’ Market Hosts Farm-to-Fork Dinner
Vendors at the Farmers’ Market in Kokomo, Indiana, are hosting a fund-raiser Saturday (October 12, 2019). The Farm-to-Fork Dinner begins with hors d’oeuvres at 5:30 p.m., and dinner at 6 p.m. in the Courthouse Alley, downtown.
Tickets ($60) include a locally-sourced and -prepared dinner with drinks, entertainment, and a “cool t-shirt”. (Last day to purchase is Friday.)
Here’s the menu:
Soup bar with a trio of fall soups
*Kale, sausage and potato soup
*Creamy parsnip soup
*White bean and roasted garlic soup
Marinated beet and apple salad
Rustic mini bread loaves
Root vegetable galette: roasted root vegetables atop a sun-dried tomato spread, and wrapped in scratch-made puff pastry, baked and served with spinach-basil pesto
Crispy garlic roasted haricot verts with browned butter and hazelnuts
Apple cider glazed pork loin with herbs
Sweet and savory quinoa with cranberry, pecan and sweet potatoes
Apple tart with chai ice \cCream
Butternut squash custard with salted almond crumble with espresso syrup
Cocktails and Indiana-made beers will be provided by The Coterie. Everyone gets one free beverage and may then order from the cash bar. Doud Orchard Apple Cider, iced tea, and water will also be available.
