North Carolina Peach Festival
The 23rd annual Peach Festival takes place tomorrow and Saturday (July 19 and 20, 2019), along Main Street and in Fitzgerald Park in Candor, North Carolina.
Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. tomorrow, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
In addition to the usual — live entertainment, a parade, arts & crafts, camel rides and such — there are always lots of fresh, sweet, local peaches, not to mention “the best homemade peach ice cream in the Great State of North Carolina”.
Peach orchards have a century-long tradition in Montgomery County, beginning when three local citizens formed the Candor Fruit Company in the late 1800s.
