Mackinac Island Fudge Festival
Fudge is one of those sweets that Road Trips Foodies tend to buy on vacation. One popular Midwestern holiday spot is Mackinac Island, Michigan — and, guess what, they celebrate an annual Fudge Festival. This year it’s set for the weekend of August 23, 24, and 25, 2019.
Sure, you can get free samples all summer in shops selling Mackinac Island fudge, but during the festival there are all sorts of extras. Such as fudge-infused cocktails (two of the most popular are the Fudge Martini and the Death by Chocolate Margarita).
That weekend is filled with fudge-making demonstrations, tasty fudge concoctions. a fudge egg hunt, and an old-fashioned ice cream social (with fudge sauce, of course).
Adding to the fun are roving magicians and musicians, concerts, and outdoor movies at the island’s Windermere Point.
