“culinarycologne” Explores Cologne’s Foodie Scene
Special to Road Trips for Foodies
From the Cologne Tourist Board
Road Trips Foodies who read English (rather than German) can rejoice. There’s a new English-language food guide in Cologne, the fourth largest German city.
The magazine culinarycologne is a project that is part of a tourism campaign of the same name. It can be picked up at the Service Center of the Cologne Tourist Board free of charge. (The center, Kardinal-Höffner-Platz 1, Cologne, faces the historic cathedral.)
On around 70 pages presented in a magazine style, readers will find a wealth of tips and stories about eating and drinking in Cologne. All of the magazine’s content is also available on the website in German and English.
The editors from the Stadtrevue magazine have put the cathedral city’s multifaceted culinary landscape on show in 21 chapters. They introduce captivating personalities, offer insider tips and tantalizing insights into the restaurant scene, spark interest in innovative concepts and send curious visitors on culinary tours. Whether you prefer traditional fare from the Rhine region, vegetarian options, gourmet establishments, family-friendly eateries or international specialities, Cologne has something to suit every taste.
“Through the magazine culinarycologne we want to draw renewed attention to our city’s culinary flair and send our Cologne guests as well as locals on a journey of culinary discovery.
A lively interest in food and drink is a strong motivation to travel. Between breakfast and dinner, award-winning restaurants and street food, Cologne’s culinary diversity is exemplified by more than 3,000 pubs and restaurants. The range of food and drink that is offered by a tourist destination is a crucial aspect of its profile and image. That’s why the Cologne Tourist Board is focusing on the city’s many culinary facets and “Culinary Cologne” is the current focus. The broad spectrum of Cologne’s offerings when it comes to food and drink is presented in three theme areas: “Originally Kölsch”, “Culinary discoveries” and “Gastronomic diversity”.
The Cologne Tourist Board is the official tourism organization of the city of Cologne. (Cologne, in German, is Köln.)
