Ladies Afternoon Tea
Ever wondered what afternoon tea looked like during the American Civil War? Here’s your chance, Road Trips Foodies.
A Ladies Afternoon Tea takes place in Preservation Hall of the Newburgh Museum, State and Main Streets, Newburgh, Indiana, as part of a weekend of activities commemorating the war.
It’s the fourth year for this event (which has sold out in the past). Tickets are $20. While period clothing is preferred, it is not required. You must, however, wear a hat. They ask that there be no shorts, short skirts or sleeveless tops.
A re-enactor will portray the special guest speaker Elizabeth Van Lew, a Virginia plantation owner and Union spy.
