View the palace and become a tea expert: Highly commended at the 2018 Afternoon Tea Awards, The Milestone Hotel and Residences serves its tea in stylish and elegant settings that overlooks the magnificent Kensington Palace Gardens. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine while dining on delicious finger sandwiches, scones and sweet treats such as home-made ginger cakes and chocolate éclairs. Just steps away from the British Museum, The Montague at the Gardens in Bloomsbury allows to guests relax with friends for tea on a sunny afternoon on the Garden Terrace with al-fresco dining, and indulge on a selection of a sweet treats and an extensive choice of teas. The Montague gives proper respect to its ritual while offering some intriguing variations on the original. The hotel’s Safari Afternoon Tea will give you a taste of Africa with unique finger sandwiches including African spiced chicken and apricot and an array of tempting treats including a coffee flavored Giraffe macaroon with toasted coconut mousse, banana meringue, and an extensive selection of traditional, flavored, aromatic, fruit and green teas. The pastry kitchen is led by a talented Executive Pastry Chef who produces the freshest pastries and cakes with fresh twists along the way. Little Princes and Princesses will also receive the royal treatment at The Rubens with a dedicated children’s menu.

Fancy your sweet tooth: Another hotel highly commended at the 2018 Afternoon Tea Awards, The Chesterfield Mayfair serves a themed afternoon tea that will delight you with traditional sweet shop flavors. The Original Sweetshop, inspired by Hardy’s Original Sweetshop, rediscovers old favorites and the excitement of finding something new and scrumptious. Fix your sweet tooth with candies such as peanut butter cups, licorice, apple drops, lollipops and Coca-Cola slices. If you’re not in the mood for sweets you can also savor freshly made finger sandwiches, homemade scones and a selection of delicious cakes and pastries. Perhaps add a glass of Champagne to your Afternoon Tea to give the occasion added sparkle.

Try vegan tea with your four-legged friends: For those who wish to enjoy tea with their pets, The Egerton House Hotel in Knightsbridge allows you to tag your four-legged friends along for a Doggy Afternoon Tea. Canine guests will feast on an array of treats including meatloaf, homemade dog biscuits, and dog-friendly ice cream. If you want to try something different from traditional tea, the hotel’s Vegan Afternoon Tea lets you choose from the finest leaf teas along with homemade vegan sweets such as iced chocolate brownies, vanilla and coconut sponge, lemon drizzle cakes, fruit and custard tartlets and vanilla cupcakes. You can also enjoy vegan sandwiches, including grilled vegetables on granary baguette, guacamole and rocket on white bread, chickpea coronation on granary bread, cucumber on brown bread and tomato and olive tapenade on sun-dried tomato bread.

If you prefer a traditional tea setting, relax at the Executive Lounge while admiring the sophisticated black and white décor, black leather sofas and exquisitely polished wood furnishings.
