Beer Day in Bamberg, Germany
Where else could a Road Trips Foodie celebrate beer better than in Germany? The town of Bamberg (famed for its beer-drinking culture) sets aside April 23, 2019, as Beer Day.
What happens? On Bamberg’s Maximiliansplatz, eleven local breweries will offer their wares for sampling. There’s also a tasting tour and a chance to see brewery pubs and learn about their history.
In the 19th century, Bamberg was famous throughout Franconia for its 65 breweries (eleven of which remain today). It was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.
