“Nourish to Flourish”
Road Trips Foodies can learn about the causes and impact of food insecurity in Indiana and Kenya during an International Women’s Day program March 8, 2019, sponsored by the International Women of Indiana.
“Nourish to Flourish” begins with registration and networking at 11 a.m. in Woodstock Club, 1301 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Tickets are $35 (or $30 if you get one by February 15).
Moderator for the panel discussion is Liz Giménez, a native of Venezuela and Certified Chef de Cuisine and Adjunct Culinary Arts Professor at Ivy Tech Community College.
Panelists are:
*Kate Franzman, communications manager for the Patachou Foundation, a non-profit feeding healthy after school meals to food insecure students in Indianapolis. She is also the in-house farmer and beekeeper for the Patachou Restaurant Group.
*Michelle Smith, an associate R&D director, leads the North American Regional Field Science team of Corteva Agriscience, the agriculture division of DowDuPont. She is a Corteva Science Ambassador for programs directed to children and is active in the Corteva Grows Global Food Security Team.
*Jennifer Vigran is the CEO of Second Helpings Inc., a community kitchen and culinary job training program dedicated to transforming lives through the power of food. She serves on the board of directors of the Indy Hunger Network.
