Taster’s Choice in Eunice, Louisiana
Road Trips Foodies can be among the judges at the annual Taster’s Choice, set for 6 p.m. February 27, 2019. Tickets are $25.
It takes place the Wednesday before Fat Tuesday (March 5, 2019), ” giving everyone an opportunity to indulge in good Cajun food before Lent begins” — which is March 6, for those of you not conversant with the Christian holiday calendar.
This year’s event will host several chefs (last year there were 25), and a panel of judges will select winners in amateur and professional categories. A People’s Choice award will be voted on by attendees — aka you.
And, of course, there will be zydeco music at the Taster’s Choice, taking place in the Acadian Center on the campus of Louisiana State University Eunice.
Proceeds benefit the Eunice Community Health Center Clinic, which provides free and at-cost medical care for the working uninsured and under-insured people of the surrounding areas.
