Tuscan Women Cook, ItalyOK, Road Trips Foodies: here’s a dream vacation — a week-long culinary immersion vacation program called “Tuscan Women Cook” held in the medieval village of Montefollonico, Tuscany, Italy

From May through October each year, Coleen Kirnan and Rhonda Vilardo (natives of Los Angeles, California)welcome guests from around the world to “live, breath and cook as Italians do” with an itinerary filled with tour guides, translators, drivers, and private cooking classes that only a local resident could access.

Each day participants cook up authentic Italian recipes taught by the local village “nonnas” or grandmothers. Many of these nonnas run Michelin-starred restaurants, and they share regional techniques, ingredients, and family recipes that have been passed down over the centuries.

The week with “Tuscan Women Cook” includes six night’s accommodation at La Chiusa, a Bed and Breakfast in Montefollonico, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided every day– along with cooking classes (full translation is provided at all classes), daily sightseeing, visits to local artisans, cheese, and wine tastings. There’s a full day sight-seeing in Siena with a private guide who has a doctorate in Sienese history. Transportation to all activities is in a Mercedes minibus with private driver.

The course takes place in the heart of Brunello de Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano that border on the Chianti wine region.

Note: “Tuscan Women Cook” completely sold out 2018 and 2019 looks to be the same.
